Paper Christmas Decorations

*Gasp!* It’s a DIY post! Enjoy! : )

Heart/snowflake/circle punches (or amazing skills with scissors)
Thread (I used red, but you could do tons and tons of different colors or anything)
A couple pretty colors/patterns of paper

It’s pretty self-explanatory, but here you go anyway:

-Cut out all the shapes you want and arrange the colors however you desire (figure out which colors go with which before you glue them on).
-Thread the needle, stick it through the paper, and hang it wherever you want. I hung them on a curtain-less curtain rod in my room.

Warning: if you only do a regular knot to tie them up, don’t pull on them. At all. They’ll come down very easily, as I found out the hard way. And when tying them, ALWAYS hold both ends of the thread, or else you’ll lose your little circle. Again, I learned this the hard way.

I think it’s worth it, though. They look nice, and I can leave them up until Valentine’s Day! Yippee! : )

p.s. they also make great gift tags.

DIY Clipboard Recipe Holder

I know, the DIY section on this blog doesn’t exist. But I’d like to change that—slowly. DIY posts aren’t going to appear a lot, unless I get really inspired and do a ton of projects. But you aren’t here to read about that. You’re here to figure out what I’m talking about.

So, here goes…

You’ll need:
-A clipboard
-Ink Pad
-Cork board
-Sticky notepad

So basically, you paint your clipboard whatever color you want. I advise you to make sure the color goes with your kitchen. I made the mistake of not thinking that one through… ANYWAY! Let it dry, and then if needed, do another coat. I just did a touch up coat, but do whatever you need.

After it’s all dried, stamp on it in whatever pattern you want. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Mine isn’t. At all. But you can’t see it because it’s covered up by the cork board. If you want to, stamp on the cork board, too. I didn’t, but I’ve seen it done before and it’s very pretty.

Your cork board should have come with little sticky thingys. So once the ink is dry, put those on and stick it on the clipboard. Make sure you still have enough room for the notepad (side) and the recipe card (top). Stick the notepad on and viola! You have this awesome thing that (hopefully) goes with your kitchen!

ImageWell. I’d say for my first DIY tutorial I didn’t do too bad. Sorry for the lack of visual aid, and the choppiness. I’ll get better. I promise!

Have a wonderful, lovely evening.

DIY Lightbulb Vases

I never even thought of hanging lightbulb vases until I saw the idea on Pinterest. But when I saw someone had pinned this tutorial, I thought, “Why not? It would be fun, and an easy way to reuse old, burned out lightbulbs.” So off I went, following the tutorial. Now I have tons of lightbulbs that I am going to use as decorations at my sister’s graduation party.

I’m sorry I didn’t make you guys a tutorial myself, but I’ve got some stuff to do. Like go on a walk in the woods (much like this post), weedwack, mow the grass, and then help my mom tag items for a homeschool curriculum sale (ewwww).
Here are a few of mine that I have hanging around the house.Image

Have a wonderful day!
